About this course

In this course we're going to learn about some key structural elements that will be useful to understand when you're building your own sites.

Understanding the role of Columns and Inner Columns — as well as how and when to use the size and positioning units —will help you get your site to look the way you want it to**. 

We'll also walk through how to manipulate the assets we've provided so you can become comfortable with sizing and alignment techniques. 

**There's actually another widget you'll want to become familiar with when creating complex designs. These are called Advanced Grids. Don't worry— we'll introduce you to these special widgets in the next course (Part V)!

 

At the end of this course, you'll have experience with:

  • Using the size, alignment, and wrapping capabilities in the Design Panel to achieve the desired layout within the canvas
  • Deciphering when to use which types of units
  • Identifying when an inner column is needed within a column
  • Manipulating images, copy, and elements to create a new hero section
